HistorySync
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
HistorySync ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the HistorySync desktop application and browser extensions.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
HistorySync is a local-first application. Your browser history and bookmarks are stored on your own device and, if you enable backup, on the WebDAV server you configure and control.
We do not operate cloud servers that receive or store your browsing data.
HistorySync does not collect, upload, or share your browsing history, bookmarks, usage statistics, crash reports, or personally identifiable information.
2. How We Use Information
Browsing data you sync is used only to provide the sync and backup features you enable.
We do not use telemetry, analytics, or automatic crash reporting. We only process information you voluntarily provide when you contact us, submit feedback, or open an issue.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your browsing data is stored locally on your device. If you configure a WebDAV backup destination, data is transmitted directly from your device to that server using the credentials you provide.
We recommend using HTTPS for your WebDAV server and keeping your credentials secure.
We do not have access to your WebDAV server or the data stored on it.
4. Third-Party Services
HistorySync does not share your browsing data with third parties.
The application does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics that access your browsing history.
5. Children's Privacy
HistorySync is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the application or on this website.
